That Carefree lifestyle!

So, clearly I am a woman. And what comes with a woman is a monthly visitor that is not one of my favorites, can I get an amen ladies?!

This is a post about periods. So for those who get squeamish over talks about a menstrual cycle, please continue about your day somewhere else.

I was sent a little box from Influenster to be apart of their Carefree campaign. It is to promote freshness when you just aren't feeling that fresh. It was perfect timing because I was just about to start my period, and I got this cute, pink box in the mail. It was filled with a pack of 20 Carefree pantiliners.

What makes this type of pantiliner different from others is that it is supposed to be two times as absorbent and be odor free for up to 8 hours. On the back of the package it says in small print it "contains odor control ingredient" and it is being "compared to absorbency of Carefree original Regular".

I went ahead and gave them a try, against my better judgement. I tend to stay away from pantyliners because I am trying to reduce the amount of waste that I create. Also, the odor control ingredient concerns me, because I always stay away from scented feminine products. I normally purchase mine from Whole Foods or Sprouts, but I know they aren't always as organic or healthy as they advertise.

After trying it out for a while, I was pleased with the results. I worked for eight hours the first time that I tried it, and then tried them a second time and I was at a concert. They passed my test. Mind you I was wearing a tampon, but I used that ask back up, because we all know that sometimes we need a little backup.

I also gave one to a friend in need, and after an awkward question of "how did you like the pad I gave you?" she thought it was pretty good.

So would I purchase them? Probably not. It just doesn't fit my lifestyle. But would I recommend them? Yes! They worked great!

Thank you, once again, to Influenster. For those who are curious about Influenster, click on the button on the side and it will link you to their website. Sign up and soon you too will be able to participate in these campaigns.

Sidenote: hopefully I will get this blog up and going again. I truly miss it. Three weeks left of the semester, maybe the summer will bring some more free time? Ha! Who am I kidding? ;)

October Favorites

Oh hey there! Remember me?

It was time to dust off my blog, for the millionth time!! Quite embarrassing.

November is just right around the corner, and Southern California is FINALLY starting to see the hints of fall. It's one of my favorite times of year, because we get something other than sunshine. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the sun and realize how fortunate we are, but sometimes it's too much of a good thing.

A lot has changed since I have last posted. I currently have my own apartment, halfway through my semester at school, and have changed my lifestyle...well kinda.

I have really worked on purchasing things I really need, and getting rid of the things I really don't. My mom has always said "Less is more" and boy is she right. I have donated or sold so many clothes, and it feels great!

So my favorites for this month are basically things that I really love, and have loved for quite some time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it right? :)

1. Frank Body Scrub
For those of you who haven't heard of Frank, well he is quite the guy. Frank is a coffees scrub that is all natural, cruelty free, and smells like a cup of Joe on steroids. This little brown pouch looks like regular ground up coffee, but is infused with almond oil, orange oil, coconut oil, and more. They come in three different scents. I only have tried the original, but I am going to try the rest soon!
I like to use Frank before I shave my legs, and also before I use my self tanner. I have keratosis on the back of my arms, and the scrub really helps keeping it tame. I also have sensitive skin on my legs, which leads me into my next favorite.

2. Venus Sensitive Razor
I got this baby from Influenster!! If you haven't heard of Influenster, click on the link and sign up. All you need to do is perform surveys and questionnaires, and you can be sent FREE products to try out and write about. It's that simple, I promise.
This time I was sent the Venus razor that is made for sensitive skin. I love it, need I say more?! I really struggle with ingrown hairs and razor burn from all different types of razors, even the regular Venus. But not with this guy! I alway rub my legs together like a cricket because they are so smooth.

3. Lush Holiday Products
It wouldn't be fair to pick just one. I mean come on, I work at Lush and so you know I am obsessed. This year, they brought back some of the favorites, made room for the newbies too! The one I always recommend is Golden Wonder, which creates Mermaid Water with stars! I just used it the other night and I can't get enough. It is just too much, but in a good way. The Shower Gels are fantastic. My personal favs are Rose Jam and So White. So White is new this year, but I will go into a more in depth description in another post ;)

4. Mask of Magnaminty, Self Preserving
Surprise, surprise. Another Lush product. Well this is a newer addition. It is a newer formula of Mask of Magnaminty, just without the preservatives, or parabens. The amount of water within the product was decreased and honey was added, which is a natural preservative. I like it because it helps unclog my pores, but softens my skin. I have oily and acne prone skin, and I wouldn't say I have soft skin, so the honey really helps with the softening part. My skin has improved so much since I started using it regularly, and I will not go a bath without it.

5. Bobble Water Bottle
Yes, a water bottle is on my favorites list. But like I said earlier, I have my own apartment and we don't have filtered water. I don't like the taste of tap water, so I purchased a 32 oz Bobble water bottle. I've had two in the past, but accidentally left them both at different events and what not. So my third has been with me the longest! One filter is good for 300 refills! That is just crazy! I take it everywhere with me, and I can refill it in any sink without worrying about the chorine and other chemicals that might be in it. It also helps me increase my water intake because of how convenient it is. Happy Cailee!

Well, I could go on forever, but I am going to keep it at five favorites for October. I did say I am living more simply right?

Hope you all enjoyed October, and Happy Halloween!!!

Lush Easter Products!!!

It has been seven days since the in store launch of the Lush Easter line. I am so happy to go to work and smell the fresh aroma they give off.
Here is a brief description of each product and I will include my favorite video clip as well from fellow Lushies :)

The Brightside
Brightside
This is my favorite smelling product. You might as well stick your head in a bucket of fresh tangerines and lemons to achieve a fraction of the crazy amount of citrus this large bubble bar has. Luckily, this is not a year round product, which I am very excited for since I know I will crave this during summer. Simply cut it into fourths with a kitchen knife and take one piece and crumble it into your bath under the faucet. You will have orange water and bubbles galore!

Carrot Soap
Carrot Soap
Holy cow this makes my hands smell so yummy! The soap comes in a large carrot and then it is sliced for you in store. Each slice has a leaping bunny in the center, which is so stinking cute. I currently have it on my soap dish next to my bathroom sink and absolutely love it. My bathroom smells yummy and the smell slightly lingers after use. It's very up lifting and smells like spring time.

Bunch of Carrots
Bunch of Carrots
During Christmas, Lush had the bubble wand that was in the shape of a star. For Easter, we have the bunch of carrots!!! They are reusable and smell delicious. Citrus is a common theme for Easter and I couldn't be happier. Each bunch comes with three carrots and you should get around 6-8 baths per bunch. Simply run the faucet over the carrot until you get the desired amount of bubbles, pat dry, and put it somewhere dry until your next bath. Last week we had a dog come in that would not leave the carrots alone. The only treats he received were carrots, like my dog. I wonder if mine will have the same reaction. It was adorable!

Bunny
Bunny
Holy heck. This little bunny should be my pet. It is adorable! It smells identical to the Creamy Candy bubble bar, except he is white with a pink belly. His blue eyes and yellow tale are made of candy, so they melt away. It smells like vanilla, but honestly to me, it smells like cotton candy and bubble gum mixed together. You can get about two baths out of this bubble bar. I feel bad for cutting him in half because of how cute he is. I keep referring to this bubble bar as him. I'm obsessed, apparently.

Fluffy Egg
Fluffy Egg
This bath bomb smells phenomenal! Once you drop this bath bomb into your full tub, it fizzes away until you are left with a soft, pink, frothy bath. If you guys were obsessed with the Snow Fairy Shower Gel during Christmas, this is the bath bomb for you! It's super sweet and will look great in an Easter basket.

Immaculate EggCeption
The Immaculate Eggception - YellowThe Immaculate Eggception - Pink
What a creative name!! This bath bomb comes in two colors: yellow and pink. It can be used for three baths. Yes, three baths ladies and gentlemen. The eggs are meant to be cracked in half. One half is for the first bath, the second half is for the second bath, and then inside there is either a little bunny or a chick that is the third bath bomb! Of course you can use the whole thing if that's what your heart desires. It smells like Grapefruit, and it would go great with the Happy Hippy Shower Gel.

The Golden Egg
Golden Egg
A bath melt AND a bath bomb. This sparkly egg is pure gold. Well not really, but that's what I consider it because I love the smell. It smells exactly like Honey I Washed the Kids Soap and It's Raining Men Shower Gel. For those who are not familiar, it smells of honey and toffee/caramel. When you drop this beauty in, it will melt away and then suddenly start fizzing. It's extremely moisturizing for you skin because of the cocoa butter and olive shell. It's perfect to give back to your skin.

This little run down was fun! Each product is available both online and in store, and all of them but The Brightside is LIMITED EDITION! So get them while you can!! :)

March Favorites

Another month has come and gone, and I have not been on my blog! I am slightly embarrassed, but feel that my busy schedule is enough justification.

But to be honest, I have really missed my blog and connecting with people! I was just discussing with my roommate today that I have a bunch of ideas and inspiration for my little bloggy. I finally have a direction I want to go, and I am very excited for this semester to be over at the end of April. That's when the ball will get moving!

But in the meantime, here are my favorites for the wonderful month of March!!

This semester, my school added a free yoga class and I was so excited. Doing yoga on my own was great, but I was really wanting an instructor to really push me and correct my form. I adore the yoga instructor here, who is a fellow student, and have learned so much from her already. She got me addicted to this room and body spray, and I spray it all the time now. I purchased mine from Whole Foods, but you can also purchase it on Amazon. It really lifts the room and helps calm me and clear my head.

Speaking of clearing my head, this lavender oil has helped as well! Every night I rub it on my neck and shoulders since that is where I store most of my stress. I love even rubbing some on my wrists and just breathe it in for instant relief of a headache or anxiety. I have been really getting into oil therapy and lavender is my first purchase so far. I purchased mine at Whole Foods as well, but you can get it online or in other health food stores.

This stuff smells so good! Holy cow!!! I recently purchased two packets of the masque from Ulta because I wasn't sure if I wanted to fully commit to purchasing the pot. It's quite pricey. But now I understand why almost every beauty blogger under the sun raves about this stuff. My hair was so shiny and soft. I mean I am still at a loss of words. I can't wait until I can use my next packet later this week. I'm still not sure if I will purchase the whole pot after reading the ingredients. They aren't earth shattering and I feel that my normal coconut oil method works just as well if not better, but it doesn't leave the wonderful smell in your hair like the Macadamia masque does.

This is another great smelling product! My face is prone to hormonal breakouts as well as clogged pores and blackheads. I tend to get little bumps along my jawline and onto my neck. It's really frustrating since I work really hard to remove my makeup from that area. Mask of Magnaminty really helps draw out the impurities that clog my pores and create breakouts. I have been using this on my chest and back recently too. I sometimes use it as an overnight spot treatment if I have a ginormous zit that needs to decrease in size by morning. It really helps calm the irritation and clear up my face!

Yet another product I was skeptical about!! I recently cut about 4 inches off my hair and have been working my butt off to keep the ends healthy. I want to grow my hair really long but was dealing with breakage and damaged ends that I thought I would just start fresh. I spray this on my ends right before I comb out my hair and it really helps with keeping them healthy. I wasn't sure if it worked well with my hair type, but after a few uses, I began to notice a difference in my hair from when I would use it, to when I forgot to put it in. Now I use it every time and never forget!

I have been burning my candle a lot now that Spring has arrived! It is a beautiful citrus scent that really spreads throughout my place. I love that I can walk into my room after it's been out for a while and still smell it! I love anything with yuzu and citrus, and this is right up my alley! It also says that it burns for up to 50 hours. How nice is that? I got this as a gift from my coworker when we did secret santa and I am absolutely in love!!!

That sums up my March favorites! I have a few things that I have been trying and will let you know how they work out. Hopefully I can begin my posting schedule the way I want to, if not, please have faith in me! I haven't disappeared, haha.

Hope your March was as great as mine was, and see you in April!

Influenster: Vox Box

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Influenster. I really do. I think it is a great program and it makes me so excited to receive a box. I actually have one waiting for me at my parent's house that I am so excited to open.

Now that I said that, I am probably the worst person to review the Voxbox! This box was geared towards the college student. I can totally see why, and I think it was awesome, just not for my lifestyle. I aim more for natural products and this was far from it. Like I said, it doesn't fit MY lifestyle, but I know for sure others will love these products!

1. Clearasil Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit Wash
Retail Price:$6.49
I received three sample packets that included a coupon. Because my face decided to act like I was a teenager again back in August, I have a strict skin care regimen that I am afraid to get out of. I have heard great things about this face wash, but I am not going to risk it. I am going to give it to one of my friends and then see how they like it, and then edit this post later.

2. Airheads Xtremes Bite
Retail Price: $1.69
I'm all about candy. I have sweet teeth instead of a sweet tooth. Knowing that I am a sugar addict I really have to watch my sugar intake. I did break down and have a few of these Airheads Xtremes, and I must admit, they were pretty good! I gave them to my sister's boyfriend and he loved them!!

3. Kiss Nail Dress
Retail Price: $6.99
I love doing my nails! Especially since I don't work at a restaurant anymore and they won't get thrashed right away. It's funny because I haven't painted my nails since I received the box and they have been sitting with my nail polish for the longest time! Once I do use them, I'll post a picture. I have the black lace stickers and they are so cute!

4. NYC New York Color Big Bold Plumping & Shine Lip Gloss
Retail price: $3.99
Ahh....another product I did not use :( I have weird lips that break out in tiny little bumps if I use the wrong products. I stick to the products that I know I react to well to avoid having giant, red, swollen, bumpy lips. It's a living hell to have to deal with them!! But I gave it to my cousin and she likes it! She said she felt the tingle and wasn't sure if she really noticed the plumping, but loved the color and the feel of the gloss.

5. Tide Pods
*Retail price was not included on the information card*
I love pods. This year, I bought pods because they are a lot easier when using the shared laundry rooms. Less mess=Cailee likes. I currently use All Detergent Pods because it's free from dyes and fragrance, because that stuff scares me, to be honest. I received one tide pod that I plan on using on our mats throughout our place and that's it. I don't like stuff like that on my clothes unless I really have to use it. But I figured on mats that we step on a few times a day will not kill me. It's in Spring Meadow so I am excited to have it smell like a meadow in my bathroom

So there you have it, a horrible review on products that I did not try. But I wanted to be honest and not just makeup something! Hope you all have a great week!

Clearing the Spider Webs

Hello all!
Long time no talk!!

I have no reason of why I haven't blogged in such a long time, besides I was extremely busy.

Quick update: I moved out!
Well, somewhat. I currently live on campus at my new school.
It's 30 minutes away from my parent's house so I still get the feeling of being away for school....right?
I quit my job at the restaurant last weekend. It was a bittersweet goodbye but I'm happy to move on.

I am not a nanny/babysitter! Only twice a week to two wonderful girls. They are a blast!
And I recently got hired at.....

LUSH!

Yes, the place I have been wanting to work at the moment I discovered it.
I am currently doing training and I am very excited for the future.

I was sitting in class today wondering what is missing in my life. I am very busy, have class Monday-Friday and still feel empty. I realized what it was...blogging!!!

I really miss interacting with other bloggers and discovering new blogs. It makes me feel so connected to the outside world while I am swamped with homework and busy working.

I still haven't finished my Europe vacation posts. I felt pressured to post everything, and instead of wanting to write about it, I just got lazy and posted the pictures on my Facebook. But the problem with that is the lack of the stories that go with the pictures. I have so many interesting things to share about our trip and am trying to find the time to post them up.

Also, I figured since I am living the college lifestyle, why not write about it?? I have experienced the good and the bad in my short time of living on campus and am planning on sharing plenty of advice on how to be comfortable and enjoy these crazy times.

But anyways, I wanted to pop in and say hello. It's been far too long and I miss spilling my thoughts onto this crazy blog.

More from me very soon!! xox

Happy Father's Day!!

Today, I have to work. And I know that everyone that works in the food business is dreading this day.
But I, on the other had, enjoy working holidays. Not because I am away from my family, or specifically today, away from my dad. But because most of the people I am serving are in really good moods and it makes it more fun.
I like serving a table that is happy because I feel like I can connect with them more and have small talk rather than just go as far as asking how they want their steak cooked.

But anyways, I hopefully will be able to be home for dinner since I am working the day shift.
*Fingers crossed!*

So here's to my dad! A simple man that can't really be put into words. He goes by Don, Dad, Donson, Mucati Donster, (thanks Matt for that one), Don Juan, and many more.

I get my sense of humor from my dad. I also have his nose and big eyes. I have learned a lot from my dad like how to change my oil, check my tire pressure, and other little car maintenance stuff. I have learned that the only real make of a motorcycle is a Harley.
{Although I have ridden on the back of many different ones, he was right. They are still my fav.}
And I have learned how to BBQ, kinda. Still need to work on that one.

One of my favorite memories I have as a younger girl was when my dad came to watch my ballet class. He would always come to my recitals and performances, but he never really came to a class or a rehearsal. I mean come on, it was ballet. Dads just aren't into that type of thing.
And I don't know if he was really watching because he had sunglasses on, but he was sat outside watching instead of just being there afterwards to pick me up.

Thankfully for him, a few years later I picked up softball then volleyball and he was totally into that. He went to almost all of my club volleyball practices and never said no to practicing either sport with me in the front yard when he got off from work.
He even coached my sisters softball team a few times.

All in all, I have a pretty awesome dad. And one day out of the year shouldn't be dedicated to show how much he means to me. So thank you for everything dad! Enjoy your day. I love you :)

A few pictures I found today while I was cleaning out my room.
He rocked the mullet. :-p
